Deinonychus and the terrible claw

I recently visited the Harvard Natural History museum and was observing the
Deinonychus specimen. It appeared to me that the "terrible claw" was
actually smaller than the claw on the manus. Could this be a juvenile
specimen? Could the claw on the foot also have been used as a display device
for mating?
