Oops, that's right - I forgot that he doesn't let the known temporal
range of fossil groups influence his phylogenetic ideas. So what
if Protoavis predates all known maniraptorans by 60 million years :-;
Why am I reminded of the time he proposed that tyrannosaurids
had a seperate origin from thecodontian archosaurs from the
rest of the dinosaurs.
