If I recall rightly, Bob Bakker describes Oviraptor as being basically an
oversized chicker. Assuming he's right, it may be that they had truncated
beaks because the Frank Perdue of their time debeaked them. We're talking
factory-farmed oviraptors here, folks!
(I am sure this will get me flamed by both the wise-use wiseguys and the AR
crowd. Well, what else is new?)
