Both George and Mr. Ornstein have valid points in their argument
about the validity of george's method. let me just point out one
thing: George has made a number of assertions about what future fossil
finds will be in the bird-theropod lineage. While his method may have
some teleological aspects, it is producing falsifiable predictions which
therefore make it testable. Traditional cladistics is also testable.
Perhaps the best way to resolve this argument is to let the next
few years of fossil finds decide the "winning" hypothesis and method.
