Polacanthus foxii

Here's an amendment to my previous posting on Polacanthus:

The species name Polacanthus foxii first appeared in print in 1881 in the
abstract of Hulke's 1882 description, submitted to the Royal Society of
London. In fact, the description in the abstract, though brief, is sufficient
to characterize the species and thus counts as the taxon's original

Hulke, J. W., 1881. "_Polacanthus Foxii_, a large undescribed Dinosaur from
the Wealden Formation in the Isle of Wight," _Proceedings of the Royal
Society of London 31_: 336.
