Deinosuchus

Mesozoic Matt askes about the biggest croc.

Both Purussaurus and Deinosuchus are only known from fragmentary specimens,
not complete skeletons, so determinations about the overall size are based
on extrapolations from the comparative measurements of extant crocodilians.
Blind Freddy can see that this leaves a large margin of error. It is safe
to say that Purussaurus, Deinosuchus and Phobosuchus (probably a synonym on
Deinosuchus) are all extremely large crocs in the vicinity of 40 to 50
metric feet long.

As for the biggest carnivore of all? Well it has to be the Blue Whale.
