LOCH NESS MONSTER (666): The most current plausible theory is that Nessie
is in fact an Eel that never hit puberty. Eels grow (by eating fish) until
puberty, then switch over to reproduction and stop growing. If you have
an eel now and then that never hits puberty, it just keeps growing until
it gets old and dies. At any given time, there are 0-1-2 such eels in the
lake. This theory solves all of the problems (size of a reproducing
population, temperature) and fits all of the existing evidence (humps,
no 'plesiosaur neck', fin showing in underwater photo). Food supply is not
an issue if there is only one of them and he dies eventually and lets
the food supply rebuild.
