Exactly, giraffes and okapis (close relatives) and young horses cannot reach
the ground without spreading their forelegs becaus
e their forelegs are too long. This casts doubt upon, but does not disprove,
the hypothesis that giraffes spread their forelegs when drinking in order to
minimize cranial blood pressures.
