If you read this elsewhere I apologize for the cross listing. 120 years
ago Custer was defeated by Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull during the last
week in July. About a week later Wild Bill Hickok was murdered in
Deadwood SD. At about the same time in late July and early August E. D.
Cope and Charles Sternberg were busy digging fossils in the Judith River
Badlands of Montana not too far from Little Big Horn or Deadwood either.
Today paleontologists are still digging in Montana. Just shows you: the
legends of the American Wild West (at least some of them:) ) are now
legends and gone, but paleontology endures! Jane D.
