Davis is quite wrong about the lack of evidence for fur-like insulation in
pterosaurs. Unwin and others have presented photographs showing clear
hair-like structures on the heads and necks of pterosaurs. These are quite
distinct from the short fibers of the inner wing memebrane in the past
mistaken for fur.
