Velociraptor Footprints

In a message dated 97-08-19 09:13:00 EDT, health-info@pop3.poptel.org.uk

<< My theory is that they simply hitched a ride on the larger "quad"
 herbivores. >>

 And continuing:

<<This behaviour is not entirely without analogs. Egrets, secretary
birds and many other species ride large herbivore "platforms" in a
similar way, using them to spot and flush out prey.>>

In the above examples, the rider and the ridden each derive benefits from
the relationship. The benefits of having a Velociraptor or two on your
back are not immediately evident, however.
