Sponsors Making Tracks to Dinofest(TM) Academy of Natural Sciences Announces
Underwriting Sponsors of `The World's Fair of Dinosaurs'

    PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Academy of Natural Sciences
today announced the leading corporate sponsors for this spring's month-long
Dinofest(TM), the most spectacular exhibit of dinosaurs, minerals, fossils and
paleontological art ever assembled.

    "We are pleased to announce the support of the Philadelphia Dodge Dealers,
Strawbridge's, Cloister Spring Water and Amtrak as the initial underwriting
sponsors of Dinofest(TM)," said Academy President Paul A. Hanle.  "Several
more sponsors, now in the final stages of negotiation, will be announced

    In addition to corporate cash underwriting, Dinofest(TM) sponsors also are
planning major exhibit-related promotions.  Dodge, the official vehicle of
Dinofest(TM), is planning activities at its 50 area dealerships while
Strawbridge's at the Center City Gallery is expected to host dinosaur-related
events.  Amtrak will provide package trips to Philadelphia -- including train
and event tickets as well as hotel accommodations -- through advertisements
from Richmond to Boston.

    Dinofest(TM) sponsorship packages also are available to local and national
businesses at presenting and support levels.  For additional information about

    The biennial Dinofest(TM) was first held in Indianapolis in 1994 and again
in 1996 in Tempe, AZ.  More than 100 of the world's leading paleontologists
will gather in Philadelphia this spring to present their most recent findings
to over 300 colleagues and the public at the Dinofest(TM) Symposium.  This
will be the first time that this spectacular exhibition has appeared on the
East Coast.

    Presented by the Academy at the Philadelphia Civic Center in University
City from March 27 through April 26, Dinofest(TM) '98 will feature more than
100,000 square feet of exhibits from around the world, including many never
before seen in America.  The event will be open to the public daily from 10

adults; $10 for children 12 and under; free for children 2 and under; a $3

    The Academy of Natural Sciences, an international museum of natural
