Nathan sent a mssg in which he commented about army ants. The are interesting
in that the individual ants have about 100.000 brain cells and there are
several million ants in a nest that brings the total number of cells that
about that of a human. Certainly there is no direct comparison but it is
interesting and that is what got me interested in artificial intellengence.
There is a snail that eats algae at the water line, but cannot be explosed to
the air for very long. It turns out that the complete behavior of this simple
creature can be written in 7 lines of code. The point being that complex
behavior can be simple intelligence played against a complex environmental
background. That will work also for larger and more complex beasts such as
our favorite dinos.
