Picky little semantic point here.  Every biological process follows this
law.  Biological processes are not immune to the 2nd law.  Everthing in
biology expends more energy to create a more ordered environment than it
gets back out.  I am sure everyone on this list is aware that what you
meant is that bioloy can avoid falling into decay and the entropy trap
because the biosphere has a huge glowing ball in the sky feeding it
enormous quantities of energy constantly.  However, this is not a
distinction that people outside those of us in the know readily make and
we need to keep this in mind when talking to the public at large.
