    You may want to check out "Migration" by Greg Paul in the Encyclopedia
of Dinosaurs (the Academic Press/Currie and Padian one).
   Mass trackways parallel to shorelines (there's your "natural obstacles"
question) and bone beds that can't be attributed to gradual accumulations
strongly infer migrational behavior.  Wide species distribution can be
another bit of evidence, although it's obciously much less compelling.
