RE: prehistoric animal Q

For me it'd be a close call between Trilobites and Dinosaurs.

I think Trilobites would win out 'though; for no better reason than I live
in an area with mostly Palaeozioc rocks, and I simply have easier exposure
to them. I'm a geologist, not a specialist palaeontologist, and I find it
fascinating the way with trilobites (and many other palaeozoic fossils), the
fossil remains can tell you as much about the original environment of the
rocks as it does about the creature.

But having said that - Dinosaur extinction is just about the most exciting
mystery going just about now....
