Probably based on Knight's turn of the century watercolor in which the main
critter is looking over its shoulder in the swamp. The same basic pose was
also borrowed in the famous photo of the Loch Ness Monster with the out of
scale (and focus) waves. I'm surprised no one ever caught that. Dan Varner.
