Re: Avian manus claws

Ratites (most), Opisthocomus, anhimid ducks, some falconiforms, Foro and
musophagids all have *carpal* claws on their carpometacarpus. So far,
the only living bird that has a completely unfused carpometacarpus is
Opisthocomus, though it is only seperate when it is young.

Phorusrhacoids, Opisthocomus, musphagids, and Foro all have carpal
claws. All of these groups were linked to another one of these groups
by various authors.
