Subject: UWYO Summer Field Program
Dear Dinosaur Enthusiast:
Greetings from the University of Wyoming Geological Museum. As
Director of the Geological Museum, I hope you can join us for this
year's summer field excursion "Dinosaurs, Geysers, and Custer: The
1998 Introductory Dinosaur Paleontology Session." It promises to be
a first-rate field trip in the Rocky Mountain West. We will be
joining my colleagues from the Museum of the Rockies who are working
at the world famous dinosaur site Egg Mountain located near Choteau,
Montana, on land owned by the Nature Conservancy. In addition to
our paleontological work at Egg Mountain we will be visiting such
unique sites as Como Bluff, Yellowstone National Park, Teton
National Park, and The Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument.
For the 1998 summer field season, we are offering this week-long
session geared for teens and adults. This program offers a unique
opportunity to explore dinosaur fossil sites with professional
paleontologists and staff members, as well as see some of the unique
geological and historical sites of the region. This session will
include experiences with many different kinds of field
paleontology-small tool excavation, hard rock excavation, and
prospecting for fossils in the badlands.
Please contact me for trip details and registration information.
Feel free to call me at (307) 766-2646 to discuss any questions you
may have about the session. Please contact me as soon as possible,
as we can only take 10 people on this exciting adventure (a minimum
of 5 people is needed).
I hope to see you this summer!
