Re: Fw: Dinamations Exhibit
In a message dated 08/08/1999 6:34:38 AM Pacific Daylight Time,
Could this have possibly been _Architeuthis dux_, the
giant squid, an *extant* life form? Or could it be one
of those extinct giant squid known, predictably, only
from its (big) beak?
I saw this exhibit like a decade ago (although at that time there was also a
Tylosaurus, Pterygotus, Elasmosaurus, and Carcharocles) and it's definitely
an Architeuthis feeding on some Saccopharynx gulper eels, which are decidedly
among the last animals that might threaten an adult giant squid.
