Fwd: The Burpee Museum of Natural History - Grand Opening

Here's a heads up for you midwesterners who can't attend the Ostrom
Symposium (A.K.A. The Clash of the Titans) from Mike Everhart of Oceans of
Kansas. Dan Varner.

Would you post this for me on the Dino list??

Just a quick note to pass on some news regarding the upcoming, grand
opening of the new Burpee Museum of Natural History in Rockford, IL. I
have put the essential information up on a web page located at:

The dates are set for February 25-28, so it's happening pretty quickly.

Looks like an interesting agenda. They have lined up some terrific
speakers (including John Ostrom and John Horner as the dinner speakers
on Friday and Saturday nights). Besides the speakers, there will be a
number of us setting up temporary paleontology exhibits around the
museum. I'll even be there with some marine fossils (mosasaurs, what
else?) from the Smoky Hill chalk of Kansas.

Hope see some of you there, too.
