Re: Kansas Elasmosaur
This is a very nice site with a detailed story about how the plesiosaur got
to its final resting place. Unfortunately, it is hard to tell what parts of
the story are based on evidence at the site and which parts (floating and
bloating?) are just made up. For example, shark attacks are mentioned. Is
there any evidence of shark bite marks on the preserved skeletal material?
Impact on the sea floor could have caused the rupture and dissociation of
the corpse, but it could also have been pulled apart by scavengers.
Question: Will this skeleton every be exhibited at the New Jersey State
I would really be interested in seeing it.
