Why is it, that in many illustrations about dromaeosaurs and birds, digit
II (?) of the pes is elevated, Velociraptor-style. This includes the pes of
Archaeopteryx. Is there any evidence at all to suggest that
non-dromaeosaurs were capable of doing this? Or is this just the latest
trend in reconstruction? Or just for comparison purposes?
