Dinosaur TV Week

Here are some highlights of U.S. national television
programming concerning dinosaurs, other prehistoric
animals, and the scientific discussion of evolution,
from high art to low trash and (theoretically) back
again, all times Eastern (check local listings to
confirm):

The Discovery Channel, 1:15am
The Ultimate Guide
"Snakes"
Apparently includes discussion of snake evolution.

The Discovery Channel, 9:00pm (rebroadcast midnight,
and 4:00pm Sunday)
The Making of Walking With Dinosaurs
Behind the scenes of the landmark documentary.

Friday, April 21

The Learning Channel, 11:30am
Elementary School
"Investigating Dinosaurs"
I don't know what this is, but it's about dinosaurs.

Saturday, April 22

Discovery Channel, 11:00am
Walking With Dinosaurs
"New Blood"
Triassic dinosaur emergence.

Discovery Channel, 11:30am
Walking With Dinosaurs
"Time of the Titans"
Colorado in the Late Jurassic.

American Movie Classics, 4:30pm
Valley of Gwangi
Mexican area sports living dinosaurs. Fun effects,
corny late 60's mentality.

Sunday, April 23

The Discovery Channel, 9:30am
Bonehead Detectives of the Paleoworld
Kid's show about paleontology. This episode: "The
Headless Dinosaur." Titanosaur.

Discovery Channel, 11:00am
Walking With Dinosaurs
"New Blood"
Triassic dinosaur emergence.

Discovery Channel, 11:30am
Walking With Dinosaurs
"Cruel Seas"
Come see the really, really big _Liopluerodon_.

Discovery Channel, 5:00am
Walking With Dinosaurs
The whole series rebroadcast. Three hours, five
minutes.

Some weeks are better than others, Travels with Mom
notwithstanding.
