One way is to gather all possible instances and show that none contradicts 
the negative hypothesis. You can prove that no cows...er...dinosaurs are 
purple by finding all the dinosaurs (a finite number), listing their colors, 
and seeing that purple is not on the list. (Going theoretical here, of 
course.)
