Dinosaur TV Week

Here are some highlights of U.S. national television
programming concerning dinosaurs, other prehistoric
animals, and the scientific discussion of evolution,
from high art to low trash and (theoretically) back
again, all times Eastern (check local listings to
confirm):

Monday, September 11

Discovery Channel, 10:00pm (rebraodcast 1:00am)
Resurrecting the Mammoth
I'd personally replace the mildly sacriligious title
of this program ("and on the third day, the mammoth
came forth unto the apostles ... ") with a merrier
"Raise that Mammoth!" sung to the tune of "Hold that
Tiger!"

Saturday, September 16

Travel Channel, 11:30am
The Hunt for Amazing Treasures
Includes segment on dinosaur bones. Your move.

Sunday, September 17

Discovery Channel, 9:30am
Bonehead Detectives of the Paleoworld
Kid's show about paleontology. This episode --
"The Wandering Dinos." Dinosaurs got around.

Discovery Channel, 11:00am
The Ultimate Guide
"T-Rex (sic)"
Hour-long documentary on the overexposed reptile.

Discovery Channel, 9:00pm
Three Minutes to Impact
Scientists and "evolutionists" discuss the possibility
of meteor (or meteoroid, or whatever) impact with the
earth. Not impossible to assume that this could be on
interest.

And so it was that he came to know the mammoth in the
biblical sense,
