I believe the "bird track" (probably dinosaurian) ichnogenus Deanea 
Reichenbach, 1852 is named in his honor (type ichnospecies Deanea 
fulicoides). Don't have my references handy, but I think this is one of the 
Connecticut Valley tracks.
