There's been some talk on the list about how the "halos" or crests of
feathers surrounding some of the Chinese dinosaurs are, in fact, artifacts
of preservation, and actually have nothing to do with the appearance of the
animal in life.
My questions are these:
1) How would we be able to determine what was a _real_ crest, if we found
2)Is the crest of Changchengornis hengdaoziensis real, or not?
