Ugo's footprints



Fossil prints known under the nickname "Ugo" have been discovered many
years ago in the lower Jurassic marine rocks (a section with ammonites) of
Central Italy (Marche Region, not Sicily).
They have been attributed to dinosaurs in a ICHNOS article by P. Arduini,
but now they are attributed to marine reptiles (plesiosaurs or something
similar) by a team of the University of Rome. I do not know if their paper
is already published or not.
Thus, not dinosaurs. But there are A LOT of Triassic, Jurassic and
Cretaceous dinosaur footprints in many other sites of Trentino, Veneto,
Friuli, Istria and Puglia (all Adriatic regions). See:
