I would also bring to your attention the work of Bette Otto-Bliesner and Gary Upchurch on the radiation and composition of late Cretaceous rainforests and broad-leaved evergreen woodlands, the habitat of many of the small feathered/non-feathered Chinese taxa.
Interesting! What's the complete ref? Is it available as a pdf file on the www? Do you have a list of plants?
It is nice to talk about osteological synapomorphies...but these dinosaurs were parts of complex ecosystems.
