Dear dinosaurs,

Some groups of birds have fixed clutch size (tubenoses - 1, pigeons -2,
gulls -3), but in species with larger broods the clutch size is very
variable even within species.

Indian elephants are more hairy when young and some populations of wild
boar, too.

On the other hand, in reverse: small clutch size in birds often indicates
low juvenile mortality and intensive parental care.
