big unuguals on pterosaurs



I'm finding that the medial pedal ungual on certain pterosaurs is quite
a bit larger and more "raptorial" than the others. It pops up here and
there without much regard for cladistics. Can we assume this may be for
holding down prey ~ or mates?

Or are there other explanations, such as arboreal ones?
