Job Description

Educator for the "Paleontology of Dinosaurs" Moveable Museum
American Museum of Natural History, Department of Education

The Moveable Museum Program provides educational outreach to schools and
community groups in New York City. State-of-the-art walk-in exhibition
spaces housed in converted recreational vehicles bring unique Museum
learning experiences into the classroom.
Major job responsibilities include preparing and teaching hands-on, inquiry
and object-based lessons, with up to date information about the subject of
Paleontology with a concentration on dinosaurs. This includes assisting in
the creation of new activities for the Teacher's Workshop and classroom
presentation, updating field journals and other materials for our program,
ensuring the upkeep of the vehicle and exhibition (maintenance), and helping
to coordinate & implement school programs (K- 8), community events (some
weekends) , summer programs(day camps and summer school), and Educator
Workshops.
Driving ability is essential, as is the willingness to drive a 37-ft
Winnebago in NYC.

Candidate should have a minimum 2 years teaching experience and a BA/BS in
education or a related science.
