The Dinosauria 2nd Ed. - Excluded taxa, nomina nuda and taxonomic inaccuracy

Part of this is a repeat of my prior e-mail, but that only regarded valid
theropods. The present list includes all non-neornithine dinosaurian taxa -
valid taxa, junior synonyms, and preoccupied genera. First, a note on how
The Dinosauria formats its taxon lists. Ideally, every genus is listed, and
every species is listed under its original genus. In addition, the type
species of every genus is listed. This is not the same as Olshevsky's
lists, for instance, where every proposed genus-species combination and
mispelling are listed as well. The first list below is presented in chapter
order- Basal Saurischia, Ceratosauria, Basal Tetanurae, Tyrannosauroidea,
etc.. It covers all taxa which lack table entries in the book. There are a
few things which need explanation-

'(d)taxon' means the taxon has an entry in the Dinosaur Distributions
chapter.
'taxon (in index)' means the taxon has an entry in the index.
'taxon (in _____ text)' means the taxon is mentioned in the text of the
______ chapter.
'(c)genusA species > genusB' means that the original genus for the species
is genusA, so there should be an entry with that binomial, but there isn't.
Instead, the entry is under genusB. So, Tyrannosaurus bataar should be an
entry, since bataar was first named as a species of Tyrannosaurus. But The
Dinosauria only lists Tarbosaurus bataar.
'taxon (as separate genus)' means that there is only an entry for binomials
with that genus, not a separate entry for the genus alone. So,
Macrophalangia is never listed by itself (as a synonym of Chirostenotes),
only as Macrophalangia canadensis (as a synonym of Chirostenotes
pergracilis).

Next, here are the nomina nuda listed in the book. Those proceded by (d)
are only in the Dinosaur Distribution chapter.

"Teyuwasu barbarenai" (Basal Saurischia)
(d)Megalosaurus "cachuensis"
(d)"Ngexisaurus dapukanensis"
Szechuanosaurus "yandonensis" (Basal Tetanurae)
Tyrannosaurus "lanpingensis" (Tyrannosauroidea)
(d)"Aniksosaurus darwini"
Albertosaurus "megagracilis" (Tyrannosauroidea)
Pectinodon "asiamericanus" (Troodontidae)
"Paleopteryx thomsoni" (Dromaeosauridae)
(d)"Proornis coreae"
"Holbotia ponomarenkoi" (Basal Avialae)
(d)"Chinshakiangosaurus chunghoensis"
(d)Lufengosaurus "changduensis"
Cetiosaurus "giganteus" (Sauropoda)
"Limaysaurus tessonei" (Sauropoda)
(d)"Megacervixosaurus tibetensis"
"Gravisaurus tenerensis" (Basal Iguanodontia)
(d)"Xuanhuasaurus nieii"
Triceratops "ingens" (Ceratopsidae)

The following taxa managed to get multiple table entries, and not merely
because they are chimaeras. Ones with only one chapter listed are in the
same chapter table twice. So, Deinodon is a junior synonym of Gorgosaurus
libratus AND a Tyrannosauroidea nomen dubium.
Aublysodon lateralis (Basal Tetanurae, Tyrannosauroidea)
Deinodon horridus (Tyrannosauroidea)
Euronychodon asiaticus (Troodontidae, Dromaeosauridae)
Euronychodon portucalensis (Troodontidae, Dromaeosauridae)
Laelaps macropus (Basal Tetanurae, Tyrannosauroidea)
Liliensternus airelensis (Ceratosauria)
Saturnalia tupiniquim (Basal Saurischia, Prosauropoda)
Tyrannosaurus turpanensis (Tyrannosauroidea)
Onychosaurus hungaricus (Ankylosauria, Basal Iguanodontia)

Finally, there are the following nomenclatural/taxonomic mistakes-
Has Syntarsus senior to Megapnosaurus.
Has Coelophysis longicollis as the type species of Longosaurus.
States Magnosaurus woodwardi _may_ be referrable to Sarcosaurus andrewsi,
when it is an objective synonym.
Has Calamospondylus oweni as the type of Aristosuchus.
Has Tarbosaurus and Maleevosaurus = Tyrannosaurus, despite a separate
Tarbosaurus entry.
Has separate Troodon asiamericanus and Pectinodon asiamericanus entries.
Has Ornithodesmus in quotation marks, although O. cluniculus is the type
species.
Has Ichthyornis dispar senior to I. anceps.
Lists Giraffatitan altithorax, not G. brancai.
Has Bothriospondylus magnus and Ornithopsis hulkei separate, though they are
based on the same material.
Has Loricosaurus scutatus = Neuquensaurus australis, but Loricosaurus =
Saltasaurus.
Has Microcoelus patagonicus = Neuquensaurus australis, but Microcoelus =
Saltasaurus.
Has Hypsirophus = Stegosaurus, but type species H. discurus is under nomina
nuda.
Has separate Acanthopholis macrocercus and Syngonosaurus macrocercus
entries, though they are based on the same material.

Next up- novel taxonomic suggestions (Eobrontosaurus synonymous with a
non-diplodocoid genus?) and presented phylogenies (Naashoibitosaurus and
Gryposaurus far apart? Prosaurolophus and Saurolophus too?).
