Among extant birds, D. epomophora has the greatest
wingspan, but weighing in at just over 18kg, the
heaviest known flying bird is the Kori Bustard
(Ardeotis kori). The largest known fossil bird that
was probably capable of flight is Argentavis
magnificens.
