I'm convinced there would have been mega-herbivore traversodonts by the end
of the Triassic, if those saurischians hadn't sneakily come up with
prosauropods.  Exaeretodon was getting towards two metres in the Carnian,
and was known and loved from South America to India.  It was destined to
conquer the world.

The dinos cheated.  And then they stole other niches by developing flight.
