Chiappe's Glorified Dinosaurs: the Origin & Early Evolution of Birds

Yes, Luis Chiappe's book, _Glorified Dinosaurs: the Origin & Early Evolution
of Birds_, is out. I just received my copy in the mail today.

Coming in at $69.95 for 192 pages, is it worth it? If you find the subject
matter interesting, then it is absolutely worth the asking price. I'm sure
that many among us will enjoy this book.

Full color throughout, it is indeed the most lavishly produced and
up-to-date book on the subject, and includes many big color photos of the
pertinent fossils, including feathered non-avian dinosaurs. Don't be put
off by the cover, either -- the artwork between the covers is much better,
in my opinion, and includes reconstructions, restorations, charts and
cladograms. The book covers recently published studies by leading
scientists, and provides an excellent introduction to the subject. If
you've been keeping up with current events, you won't find any surprises
here, but you will find a good, solid book that deserves a place on your

I highly recommend this book.
