Er, no, no longer. Last year it was published that this interpretation came from a bone where the layers from the juvenile phase of bone growth had been entirely remodeled. I probably posted this here, so the complete reference should be somewhere in the archives.

but quite obviously, entire forests survived
*someplace* judging from the botanical continuity.
