I was out of the list yesterday, but you are
completely right, at Mapuzungun (or mapuchean
language), the common word is Longko or the easier
version lonko, that means chief. actually, is the same
root for Loncosaurus argentinus (Ameghino, 1898).

(BTW, the language calls itself Mapudungun.)

Oops! It does so in one of the proposed orthographies. Another, as shown above, uses z instead of d.
