Also worth noting is anything capable of powered flight, is capable of gliding flight.

This is quite true. Around here (American midsouth flatlands), we even have conditions suitable not only for gliding, but also for soaring a Piper Cub (Piper J-3) two or three times per year. And a Piper Cub is a really crappy glider.
