It's often said that crocodile meat tastes like chicken - but that's mostly due to the fact that farmed crocs have a lot of chicken in their diet. Apparently crocs that eat mostly fish have a slight fishy taste to them.

Ordered some ostrich from an internet dealer. Tasty, VERY lean firm meat. And very red, kind of a burgundy color. Chewy if not cooked right - was great in a crock pot.

Have had alligator nuggets (just fried chunks), also chewy.

Neither tasted like chicken.
