Any 'digging' would have been something along the lines of digging
into trees (including rotten wood), digging into tall termite mounds,
or possibly (as raised here on the DML) digging into large carcasses
(inside or out).  No digging would have occurred at ground-level - the
forelimbs were just too short for that.
