Re: Sauropodz r kewl WAS silly ramble

How many times has the Hoatzin been moved from one group within Aves
to another group? Yet the hoatzin (and other cases) haven't destroyed
 the taxonomic system.

What Mike Keesey tried to explain was that the first such move _changed the name_ of the hoatzin from *Phasianus hoazin* to *Opisthocomus hoazin*. Moving *Therizinosaurus cheloniformis* from Testudines to Dinosauria didn't change _its name_; it's still *Therizinosaurus cheloniformis*.

See also: *Carcharodon megalodon* = *Carcharias megalodon* = *Carcharocles megalodon*. You want to follow the literature on that one species, you have to know three names. (Or, at least, _I_ know of three; there might be more.)
