A number of recent and not so recent items that may be interest:

Baby Louie oviraptor embryo story

I've been working on a much delayed summary of 2014 for the DML that
was to incude this item, but decided to post it now, since it has not
been mentioned before and Brian Switek twittered a photo of the
skeleton for Fossil Friday.

Here's a link to an article in Chinese from the November 2014 issue of
Dizhi Lüyou [Geological Tourism] about the return of the smuggled
"Baby Louie" theropod embryo to China from the United States. The
article has a revised computer-graphic reconstruction of the "Baby
Louie" embryo as an oviraptor. (The older reconstruction on the cover
of National Geographic was based on the assumption it was a
therizinosaur.) The article appears to be protected from copying the
text or the photos. Google Chrome will translate the Chinese text on
the page to English, however. I used screen shots to create a (clunky)
document version for myself.

The cover of the magazine can be seen here with the reconstruction.

The Italian government is paying Mario Sartori, land owner of the site
where Tethyhadros fossil was found in Duino, Italy, 500,000 euros as a
"prize for discovery." The site was expropriated by the government for
the excavation of the fossil. The full value of the Tethyhadros fossil
was put at 2 million euros, and the land owner was entitled to a
quarter of that. (in Italian)
