Tyrannosaurus skull arrives at Berlin Museum + Allosaurus death trap + more news

Some recent items:

A privately owned specimen of Tyrannosaurus nicknamed "Tristan Otto"
and found in Montana in 2012 has been lent to the Berlin Museum für
Naturkunde for study and display.  (The Berlin museum displays
original fossils rather than plastic casts.) The owner of the fossil
is a British businessman Niels Nielsen. The first arrival, the skull,
is said to be about 98% complete, with evidence of bone cancer in the
jaw. The rest of the 12-meter-long specimen will be on display
starting in December 2015. The individual bones will be CT-scanned and
studied with a computer. A team from the Berlin museum is
investigating the excavation site in Montana for more information
about its habitat. (This T. rex  will be the first true fossil
specimen of Tyrannosaurus on public display in continental Europe,
beating the T. rex still being prepared for the Naturalis Museum in
Leiden, the Netherlands.) (in German)
