Of all the dinosaurian lineages, the only one to survive the K/Pg
extinction happened to be the weirdest and most aberrant lineage of
all.  The miniaturized, toothless, big-headed, stumpy-tailed group of
pennaraptoran theropods that we know as 'birds'.
