Allosaurus skeleton sells at auction in France--but won't go to Paléospace museum in Normandy

OK, this is a touchy subject with restrictions on the DML. However, the sale of an Allosaurus skeleton in Lyon, France, is now over--so it won't be promoting the auction sale per se to mention the news. The skeleton (nicknamed Kan and about 75%  complete, with a perfectly preserved skull with nearly all of its teeth) came from a ranch in Wyoming  and sold for 1,128,000 euros on Saturday. The buyer is currently unidentified (bid was by phone) but apparently intends to put in on public display somewhere next summer. The Paléospace museum in Villiers-sur-Mer in Normandie had hoped to get the specimen and had put together funding--but was outbid in the end.  (in French)
