Stones tools from Pliocene hominins in Northwest India dated to 2.6 million years ago

OK...not a perfect fit for the DML and VRTPALEO, but may be of interest anyway.

Online articles and news stories about discoveries by a Indian-French
team indicating hominins with lithic industry in the Siwalik region at
least 2.6 million years ago. (Note that there have been earlier claims
of tool-making hominids in the  region of Siwaliks. From 2003:
