Re: Flightless giant azhdarchids?

Good day,

I would like to ask if anybody in the scientific community ever
proposed a idea that the most massive azhdarchids were actually unable
to fly, and so presented a giant stork-like ground-dwelling flightless
forms? Could they possibly fend off tyrannosaurids and other predators
with their beaks? Were they able to adapt to purely terrestrial
ecological niches?

Tom - an idea similar to this has been proposed, although
flightlessness was not invoked. This is even mentioned in the
Wikipedia article on azhdarchids.  Your best starting point, if you
