[dinosaur] Loss of Ralph Chapman

Greetings,

Some of you may have seen this information on social media. Ralph Chapman, dinosaur paleontologist, morphometrician, and former inhabitant of the DML, passed away on October.

Ralph had done classic work on the application of morphometrics to vertebrate paleontology. For 15 years he ran the Applied Morphometrics lab at the National Museum of Natural History, until he and his wife Linda Deck moved out to New Mexico.

He was famous for his friendliness and willingness to (indeed, enthusiasm for) sharing his idea and expertise with others, especially younger scientists.

His obituary is available here:Âhttps://www.devargasfuneral.com/notices/Ralph-ChapmanÂ
